With the main focus on underprivileged children, ASCT runs two Learning Centres in Bangalore. It help in the educational needs of students and train poor marginalized domestic women to learn trades through our 'Learn and Earn Project' to become economically independent. Soft loans are offered to women to start small bussiness ventures like catering services, put up provision shop or a beauty parlour etc.

We have a large network of students who get help with educational scholarships. We provide over 200 children with books and uniforms annually.

In addition we support other NGO’s in their efforts to uplift poor children and women.

Major projects of ASCT

ASCT Centre for Learning – I (Indiranagar)

ASCT Centre For Learning – I (Indiranagar) was started on 11 May, 2003 to impart education to underprivileged children and to offer training in arts & crafts for women and children. The centre has around 200 students in the age bracket 4 to 15, and about 20 women in the 'Learn and Earn project'. The centre functions with qualified teachers and volunteers who take up part of the teaching responsibilities. We conduct our activities from rented premises Samskruthi, 2686, 18th Main 4th Cross, HAL II Stage, Indiranagar, Bangalore 560 008 - which is close to a couple of low income underprivileged areas. In addition to academic guidance, we have hobby classes - craft and art lessons, conversational language courses, talks on health and hygiene and personality development. We arrange essay and painting competitions to coincide with important occasions and have cultural programs once in three months to encourage the artistic abilities of the children. The activities at the Centre help students academically with school work and also in creative activities like – acting, painting, music and dance. Health counseling for children, teenagers and women is also offered at the Centre. A stationery outlet allows students to buy school accessories at half the cost price. During summer vacation ASCT conducts summer camps for students to learn creative activities.

ASCT Centre for Learning – II (Annasandrapalya)

As an extension of ASCT projects, we started another Centre for Learning for poor children at Annasandrapalya in April, 2005. The Centre activities are carried out from a small rented place by five teachers with around 70 registered students. During summer vacation we conduct Summer Camps for students where they learn creative activities. This Centre more or less follows the same pattern of activities as in ASCT Centre for Learning – I (Indiranagar).

ASCT Centre for Learning – III (Krishnarajapuram)

ASCT Centre for Learning – III was formally inaugurated on 9th November 2005 with a short, very well planned program. The students entertained the small audience with their varied talents. The Centre is located at Krishnarajapuram layout in the outskirts of Bangalore. One of our teachers who were working at ASCT Centre for Learning – I (Indiranagar) got sufficiently motivated to replicate a similar Centre in Krishnarajapuram.

The idea was mooted early October and by mid October we commenced functioning with a dozen underprivileged children. Due to incessant rains the inaugural function was delayed to November 9th, 2005.

Located in a neat three room unit it has three teachers and around 50 students from age bracket of 5 to 14 yrs. The Centre is located near low income group families living in and around the place.
